McCloskey & Company Inc. are proud to announce a new partnership with Tempest Engineering. Located in Cleveland, OH, Tempest Engineering prides itself on balancing industrial process temperature control. For over 35 years Tempest Engineering has been custom engineering industrial refrigeration and heat transfer systems for customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber, oil & gas, food & beverage, testing laboratory, and ice arena industries.
The McCloskey team of Joe McCloskey, Gene Jenkins and Stephen Baxter recently visited the Tempest Engineering facility in Cleveland, OH to see their facility first-hand and to better learn about their engineering capabilities.

E3:ICE (INDUSTRIAL CHILLER EQUIPMENT):
It’s important to note that Tempest Engineering has the capability to build and design containerized systems for a variety of applications and facilities that are looking to free up floor space to support production expansion projects.
E3:TCU (TEMPERATURE CONTROL UNITS):
It’s important to note that Tempest Engineering has been designing and building TCU/TCM’s for many applications. These are robust industrial units that are designed to be in service for 20-30 years.
Tempest also designs and builds combination Chiller/TCU System that can span a temperature range from
-40°F to 250°F process fluid. Other applications range from -100°F chillers to 700°F Hot Fluid Units.
After touring the Tempest Engineering facility and seeing their equipment first-hand we sat down with their team to better understand their business. During this afternoon meeting we learned several interesting things about Tempest Engineering:
They have a full-service, in-house engineering team that drives the company embrace their role of providing custom engineered solutions rather than simply an order/quote shop. They approach every project with the same foundational approach, the FOCESS Engineering Approach. They believe that a successfully engineered system can only be achieved if they know the functional and performance specifications of the process/applications, and business/process objectives that need to be met, and the business/process concerns that need to be overcome.
They have two branded engineered systems – E3:ICE and E3:TCU. E3:ICE is their product line for Industrial Chiller Equipment, serving customers that need industrial chilling for their processes and applications. They specialize in engineering industrial refrigeration equipment for low and ultra-low applications. Tempest Engineering classifies low temperature chilling to include temperatures ranging between 20F and -20F and ultra-low temperature chilling to include temperatures ranging between -20F and -100F.
Their second engineered system is the E3:TCU, designed for customers that need temperature control units for applications requiring hotter processes and applications up to 700F. They have the capability to manufacture both hot water or hot oil TCU systems.
We look forward to building a continued, long term relationship with Tempest Engineering, leveraging their custom engineered systems to benefit the needs of our customers. Do you have a process/application that requires specific temperature control? Let’s talk!
